About

JASON IANNUZZI, conductor

An artist who is passionate about the power of music to transform audiences and performers alike, Jason Iannuzzi has a robust background of choral conducting, vocal coaching, music direction, and extensive knowledge of the choral-orchestral repertoire.

Jason Iannuzzi is an acclaimed conductor and educator known for his dynamic leadership and innovative programming across the choral and orchestral spectrum. He currently serves as Artistic Director of Cantemus Chamber Chorus, a premiere vocal ensemble on Boston’s North Shore, and has held conducting positions with Bucks County Choral Society, Murrysville Festival Chorus, Blazing Star Chorale, and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. As Assistant Conductor of the Mendelssohn Choir, Mr. Iannuzzi prepared the professional, symphonic chorus for performances with the Pittsburgh Symphony and world-renowned maestros including Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Leonard Slatkin, Mariss Jansons, Yan Pascal Tortelier and the late Richard Hickox. In July 2025, Mr. Iannuzzi led Magnum Opus — a 50-voice choir he founded — on its debut tour of France.

Mr. Iannuzzi is widely praised for performances that combine emotional resonance, musical precision, and imaginative programming. His conducting has been featured at state and regional choral conferences, on tour throughout Europe and Asia, and in distinguished venues such as Carnegie Hall. He has led collaborations with orchestras, professional soloists, and vocal ensembles across a diverse repertoire—from cornerstone choral masterworks to newly commissioned compositions. A widely respected and experienced music and drama educator, Mr. Iannuzzi has taught students at all levels in both public and private school settings for the past 26 years.

A ardent advocate for cultural exchange, Mr. Iannuzzi has led international tours to Sweden, Finland, Estonia, China, Greece, Bulgaria, and Spain, and has commissioned over a dozen new choral works. Equally at home in the concert hall and in the theater pit, his work as a music director spans musical theater, concert and opera productions, garnering more than fifty production credits and honors including multiple Gene Kelly Awards for excellence in high school theater.

Mr. Iannuzzi holds degrees in conducting and music education from Carnegie Mellon University and Westminster Choir College. He is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association, where he currently serves as Massachusetts ACDA President-Elect and Treble Choir Repertoire and Resources Chair, and is a frequent guest conductor, presenter, and adjudicator throughout the northeastern United States.
